MBGA RATING -

This 27-hole course had been rather inconsistent over the last couple
of years, but they boldly stepped up and worked hard to correct their
problems. They extended it to 7,000 yards; expanded the greens and
built six new tees on the tips. It now features Champions Bermuda
greens and fairways lined with Carolina pines. The Magnolia Course,
their first nine holes, has a slightly Scottish flair. Water comes
into play on three holes and three more are heavily bunkered, so
hazards are a key element of the opening holes. The Azalea Course is
carved from the thick Carolina woodlands. Water is the dominant theme
here, factoring into many of the shots. The Dogwood Course, their
third nine, meanders along the historic Caw Caw Run and through dense
hardwoods. Their hard work also included removing some fairway
bunkers, reshaping grass bunkers, repaving the cart paths, 175 new
palm trees, azaleas, flowers and 10-minute tee times. These gutsy guys
deserve a hearty well done and your play.
