OK, pay close attention - This westernmost golf course was originally called the Diamond Back Golf Club until some misanthropic marketing guru decided they could sell more real estate with a more froo-froo name, so they named it Woodland Valley Country Club. Well, that moniker bombed so they had to backtrack to the much better Diamond Back name. However, since they had already spent a bunch of cash on the Woodland Valley foolishness it is now the Diamond Back Golf Course at the Woodland Valley Country Club. Whew! This modern design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and a dense Low Country forest, and is a real sleeper. This a fun course featuring topography and elevation changes of up to 65 feet, strategically placed bunkers and lakes, and its putt challenging Jensen Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. While golfers should be aware that virtually all of the courses along the low-lying Highway 9 corridor have problems with soggy conditions and cart paths only occur all too often, this track, however, has much better drainage than the other Highway 9 courses. They are building housing there, so its pristine surroundings are dwindling slightly and the conditions of the course have also slipped.

Comments: holes 9 and 18 are quite weak but most of the holes are strong this course has come a long ways in the past 3 years.
