This course is the north-end pretender to Caledonia and we stress pretender. Running along the Waccamaw River, it’s another attempt by the fine folks at the Glens Group at bringing the Old Country to the New World. Cheerio dude! This consistently well-maintained track features open tee shots, wide, flat fairways, long par 5’s, large, elevated, heavily trapped and fast greens and water coming into play on twelve holes. While the layout is nothing extraordinary, their greens get rave reviews, and you shouldn’t lose too many balls. It has become a popular post arrival or pre-departure choice for golfers staying on the North end and flying in and out of the Myrtle Beach or Wilmington, North Carolina airports.
Note: The only real problem here is finding it, as it’s really off the beaten track, so be sure and allow an extra 20 to 30-minutes to your driving time.
