The first of the four tracks at Ocean Ridge Plantation, this course is part wild and untamed, part rustic and quiet. This layout features rolling terrain, wetlands, dense woodlands, open spaces, tight and wide fairways and contoured greens. Golf Digest’s “Places To Play” awarded Lion’s Paw 4-Stars and “The Best In The Myrtle Beach Area.” It also at one time had one of the “100 Best Golf Shops In America.” Water comes into play on 15 holes. There have been ongoing rumors that Ocean Ridge has having financial issues, which probably accounts for the all too frequent surly attitudes of some staffers there, and the lousy website. However, with the new Mini-Verde Bermuda greens, the condition of this track improved significantly.
