While this track, not to be confused with the excellent Pete Dye track by the same name on Hilton Head Island, had some brief improvement in conditions and their customer service, elevating it to, at best, mediocre, and their greens tend to be suspect. This course winds through a pine forest and features slightly rolling terrain with plenty of water, bunkers and narrow fairways. Their signature hole is No. 9, a 546-yard, par 5, with water on the left and right sides of the fairway. We wondered what the dolts at Golf Magazine were smoking a couple of years ago when they called it the “Best Bang for the Buck in Myrtle Beach.” It must have been a typo, and they meant “The Best Bang for a Buck.” Regardless, they were nutz!
