Since its opening this 27-hole tract was a favorite of virtually everyone, and for a while it was a MBGA Player’s Top 20 golf course, but times change and despite having some of the friendliest people in town it slipped a bit, and the owners haven’t made any serious attempt at bringing it back to truly primo conditions. These folks are known for being goofy over anything remotely Scottish as is evidenced by all silly names for practically everything (holes, bunkers, dunes, creeks, etc.) there. In 2005 it received 4-Stars from Golf Digest readers. While they call it a “links-style” layout, it is more of a “parkland-style.” All that said, the natural beauty of ever-changing elevations, 100-year old pines, dogwoods, hollies, massive oaks, streams and brooks are all still there.
