This traditional style layout was originally 27-holes, but today only the Garnet and the Sapphire nines remain. The remaining 18-holes are carved through a pine forest and feature Bermuda greens, tees, fairways, and rough. Several holes have tall grasses and love grass. Their greens average a whopping 6,400 sq. ft. This track was a fixture in the dreaded MBGA Basement for years, but with the closing of 22 courses, the lack of course-side development and more attention from the operators, it has finally climbed out. Good for them! Golfers should be aware that virtually all of the courses along the low-lying Highway 9 corridor have problems with “soggy” conditions and “cart paths only” are almost the norm.
