This golf course hosted the 1989 Carolina’s Open, the 1992 Golf Writer’s Association of America and annually hosts the Carolina’s PGA Senior’s Championship. The signature hole at Beachwood is the 239-yard, par-3, 18th. There is water in play on seven holes. This coastal layout with its Bermuda greens and flat terrain is basically a municipal golf course, and is best suited for bargain hunters and beginners. This track was supposed to be closed as part of a big real estate development, but with the Myrtle Beach real estate market in the crapper big time, that idea has stalled. They have really improved their attitude, and their conditioning is comparable to the prices they charge.
