| Barefoot Resort - Love
Course -
MBGA RATING -
лллл
While all four of
the Barefoot courses are some of the best tracks in the area, this
one comes in a close third behind the Fazio and Dye tracks. The only
problem there is the traffic noise from the six-lane highway running
through the center of the project. Carolina native, and 1997 PGA
Champion, Davis Love III used all of his Carolina golfing
experiences as a background, and then embraced a tradition of Low
Country character in his latest design. The Love course is a
traditional layout that incorporates the recreated ruins of 17th
Century plantation, similar to ruins found along holes in Scotland
and Ireland, along holes 3 through 7. The 7,047-yard course features
wide fairways with generous landing areas and greens complexes
similar to those found at the 1999 U.S. Open.
They recently
completed a beautiful new 27-acre practice and teaching facility
serving the Fazio, Love or Norman courses.
