Whispering Pines Golf Course
–
MBGA RATING -
«« The
City of Myrtle Beach took over the operation of this typical military
base golf course when the Air Force flew the coop. From the Federal
Government to local government, now that’s a real recipe for success
isn’t it? The course has narrow, tree-lined fairways, plenty of water
and unusually hard greens for the Myrtle Beach area. Since it adjoins
Myrtle Beach International Airport, you may want to check the flight
schedules, or just bring along some earplugs, just in case. Currently,
there is a rumor that the City is considering selling the course, or
doing a land-swap with an area developer, which does not bode well for
it’s upkeep, and overall future. |
