While this traditional style layout is one of the newer courses in the
Myrtle Beach area, it been for sale virtually since it opened, and has
gone from mediocre to terrible back to mediocre. It was originally
27-holes, but today only the Garnet and the Sapphire nines exist. The
remaining 18-holes are carved through a pine forest and feature Bermuda
greens, tees, fairways, and rough. Several holes have of tall grasses
and love grass. Their greens average a whopping 6,400 sq. ft. Golfers
should be aware that virtually all of the courses along the low-lying
Highway 9 corridor have problems with “soggy” conditions and “cart paths
only” are almost the norm. Wet or bone-dry this is not a course we’d
want to play!
